“Rigid Sign Printing” is a very general term for printing any firm-substrate signage you may need. Signs for displays, or signs that are inserted into frames, or stand alone aluminum signs all fall into this category. State of the art equipment, inks and materials are used for all of our rigid sing printing. If you’re not sure what material your sign needs to be, give us a call, and we’ll be happy to help you determine the substrate that is appropriate for your application.
Quantity
Rigid Sign quantities are sold in increments of 5. They can be 5 of the same graphic, or one each of five different graphics. There is no limit to the amount of signs we can produce, but larger quantities will affect turnaround time.
Size
There is no real “typical” rigid sign size. The sizes we list are just to give you an idea. All materials, except Backlite, have a maximum size of 48″ x 96″. Backlite has a maximum size of 51″ x 140″.
Material (Substrate Type)
Coroplast or corrugated plastic, is the most popular form of temporary indoor/outdoor signage. It comes in 4 mil and 10 mil thicknesses, can be printed on both sides, and has a gloss finish. The 4 mil coroplast can be custom cut to any desired shape.
Foamcore is great for lively presentations, is sturdy and durable, and is recommended for indoor use only. We use 4 mil foamcore, which can be printed on both sides, has a gloss finish, and can be cut to any custom shape desired.
Backlite is illumination film that refracts back lighting. It’s a 1 mil polycarbonate with a white matte finish. It prints single sided, with a maximum size of 51″ x 140″.
PVC is white rigid plastic that’s great for indoor or outdoor use. It’s great for displays or framed signs, and has a beautiful gloss finish. PVS is available in 3 mil or 6 mil thickness, and prints single sided or double sided.
Polystyrene is very durable, and is mostly used for sign inserts – swappable signs placed in frames. It’s also ideal for small & close-up signs – like menus, etc.. It prints on one side or both, and has a nice gloss finish.
Aluminum signs are for heavy duty signage, mainly for outdoor use. We use .040″ thick aluminum that can be bolted to a post, mounted on a wall, or framed. Made to last, aluminum signs can be printed on one side or both.
PolyAir has smooth and light surface, and prints beautifully without any texture. It has a bubble core that provides excellent support and durability. It’s great for both indoor and outdoor use, and prints on one side or both.
J-Bond consists of two sheets of .15mm aluminum, sandwiched around one 2.7 mm polyethylene base (total 3 mm thick). It’s the flattest panel on the market, making it great for mounting. It’s cut with a router that leaves a very clean, blacked-out edge. It can print one-sided or both, and has a protective surface that prevents damage to printed graphics.
